Our Picture Books this morning were "three for three." I'll have to add copies to my traveling library.
In "Crankenstein" by Samantha Berger and Dan Santat a kid can feel like a monster when stuff goes wonky -
"Horrible Bear" by Ame Dyckman and Zachariah Ohora there's a misunderstanding that causes a lot of stomping and bad feelings, until we figure out mistakes happen - and "Quackers" by Liz Wong helps us celebrate differences in a fun way. I gotta tell ya, there's just a small corner of picture books on one side of the stairs at Subterranean Books - but, that corner is filled with treasures. AND, as your readers mature, just take a step to the left to find stories that will fill their minds with wonder and delight . . of course, YOU will enjoy the entire store filled with the very best an Independent Book Store has to offer.
For tellers, I want to share there are new online programs at the Library to help us find information and material that will surpass our expectations and get us ready for all our school bookings. My heart felt thanks to the librarians at our St. Louis Public Library who always have me up to speed with fresh grade level material - with our without pirates . . . (giggle)
Hope to see you in a story circle soon.
love & love,
